Avoid These Foods To Prevent Acid Reflux
Among Them Are Fatty Foods, Alcohol, Coffee, Chocolate, And Spicy Foods
There are certain foods that increase the risk of acid reflux. Most of these increase the production of stomach acid, or relax the valve between the stomach and the esophagus, called the lower esophageal sphincter (LES). Therefore, acid reflux patients must be aware of these foods, which includes avocado, coffee, and chocolate, which relax the valve. Alcohol not only relaxed the valve but also increases the production of stomach acid. Other foods have different effects. Among them are spicy foods, in which the substance that gives the hot flavor, called capsaicin, slows digestion, increasing the risk of acid reflux. Mint has a different effect, irritating the esophagus. Fried foods contain a high amount of fat, which also causes heartburn and acid reflux. More info click here.
