Study Reveals An Increase In Gut Infections
These Can Have A Fatal Outcome In The Elder Population
According to a study, there is an increase in recurring gut infections caused by the microorganism Clostridium Difficile. It results in diarrhea, severe gut inflammation and blood infections, which can have a fatal outcome in the elder population. Usual treatment consists of antibiotics, acid-reduce drugs or corticosteroids. The causes are unclear, but the study suggests the requirement for new therapies. More details click here.
